e.l.f. Makeup, a Beauty Favorite of Mine: Eyes

review disclaimer

Makeup is one of the things I’d want if I were stranded on a desert island. I love to look and feel beautiful and the right makeup does that for me! I didn’t really start wearing makeup until senior year in high school and my little sister actually helped me out a lot with it. One thing that I learned early on was that a lot of makeup costs an arm and a leg. I remember how excited I was when I first learned about e.l.f. eyes lips face. The idea of being able to purchase quality makeup for prices marked practically at a steal really appealed to me.

I initially wanted to write about e.l.f. to share about the Beauty Bundle. As an e.l.f. lover already, I was excited to learn that you can get an e.l.f. Studio subscription box or gift plan called the Beauty Bundle. With the subscription box, you pay a mere $19.99 every 8 weeks and receive a box of assorted e.l.f. Studio products which sounds unbelievably exciting! You can also sign up for a gift plan for 6 months to a year and this is the perfect gift “for her” or even a gift for yourself!

I received many e.l.f. Studio products and to be sure that I do them all justice in my review without making a very long, picture-packed post that loads very slowly, I’ve decided to split them up into three. For eyes, I received:

Eyes are the most fun for me. You can change up anything you have, just by the way you apply it. I had a lot of fun playing with my e.l.f. eye makeup and I’m actually planning on picking up more this weekend! The great thing about e.l.f. is that all of the makeup comes at such low prices that if you like something and decide you need it in every shade, you can probably afford to do just that!

This was my first time trying cream eyeliner. I used liquid eyeliner several years ago but it would smear all over and application was tough and messy, so I’ll admit that I was nervous to try it. Surprisingly, I had a relatively simple time applying the e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner using the brush that came with it. The eyeliner glided on and gave such a prominent look to my eyes. This was one of my favorite items of all because it was so easy to apply and yet gave me such a different look than I’m used to, and yet very beautiful.

The e.l.f. Eyelid Primer was the perfect shade for me. It didn’t give a thick, sticky, caked on feeling but instead was very lightweight. It did its job of helping the eyeshadow to stay on longer without mushing up. After hours of playing with the kids and running around, my eyeshadow still looked freshly applied.

I love the double use of the e.l.f. Eyeliner & Shadow Stick. Sometimes I need to bring and apply my makeup on-the-go and it’s nice to be able to bring less but get the same dolled up effect. The Midnight was a very pretty shade alone or coupled with the Smoky Sea Baked Eyeshadow Trio. On my swatch, the order left to right is Midnight eye shadow, eyeliner, and the Smoky Sea Baked Eyeshadow Trio.

The e.l.f. Baked Eyeshadow Trios were absolutely stunning! I love the sparkle in these colors, especially the Smoky Sea. The Peach Please has a lovely golden tint to it that I feel makes it go well with more colors. It’s not too dark but a good color. The Brown Bonanza looks more golden in the compact but it applies definitely as a brown shade. I think that both the Peach Please and Brown Bonanza went very well with all of the Smudge Pot shades I received. For my swatches, the smudge pots are horizontal along the top and the brown-tinted trios are along the bottom to show how well they match. The Peach Please trio is on the left, Brown Bonanza on the right.

The Smudge Pot was another favorite, being something new to me. I love how smoothly it went on, how sharp it looked, and its long-lasting power. I will be getting every color of the Smudge Pot because I am obsessed with the way it looks and I can mix it well with anything or wear it alone. These are definitely the most striking eyeshadows I own and they’re going to be in my must-have pile!

The e.l.f. Eyelid Primer is obviously a must and it gave the same long-lasting boost to my eyeshadow as any expensive brand and why put all of the extra a money in when the effects are the same?

On the eyes portion of e.l.f. overall, I am extremely pleased. The quality is great, the colors are vibrant and varied. The low cost of e.l.f. makes it so that even on a mom’s budget, you can afford to buy the entire line of products to give yourself a lot to choose from. I would and do highly recommend e.l.f. to anyone who will hear me!

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for part 2 and 3 of this review, lips and face!
