Living not far from Philadelphia, cheesesteaks are a popular food item around here. We have an amazing place to go around here called Jersey Mike’s, but for the days when Hubby wants to save a little bit of money, he creates his own fast food. It’s a simple recipe, if you can even call it a recipe, but it’s thick and flavorful so he’s very satisfied with it! It beats the cheap and junky microwavable steaks and it’s certainly less expensive than going out every time the craving hits! It’s easily customizable, whether you want to add Cheese Whiz or “Whiz” as they call it, peppers, or turn it into a full-fledged cheesesteak hoagie with the lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Here’s the bones of the recipe, play with it and let us know how you change it up!
Ingredients
1 onion
Beef Round Thin Sliced Sandwich Steak
Slices of cheese
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Salt
Pepper
Sandwich Roll, long or round
Directions
1. Cut the meat into strips.
2. Sprinkle one side of the meat with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and/or onion powder. Then flip, and sprinkle the other side.
3. Begin sautéing onions for a minute and stir.
4. Add meat into frying pan with onions. Cook all meat until brown.
5. Put onto a delicious sandwich roll and top with cheese (we like it with Provologne).

This looks really good. Cheesesteak is my fiancé’s favorite food, so I will definitely need to give this recipe a try.
These sound and look so yummy. I can’t wait to try them. I know my husband is going to love them. I might even add some green pepper to them.
I was thinking how good it would be with Provolone, and I see that is what you used. Mmm haven’t had this in years I should make this as a crowd pleaser!
