Sweets for Your Sweet: Homemade Valentine’s Day Truffles with Peanut Butter and Brownies

For Valentine’s Day, I get absolutely and completely spoiled with candy. Except in my home, Valentine’s Day is actually February 15th because we’re a frugal family and I like those expensive chocolates that are a steal when they’re on sale! My husband is not so easy to buy for, especially when it comes to candy. He doesn’t share the sweet tooth that I have and he’s very particular about what he likes. This year, I wanted to make something of my own to treat him to, combining some of his favorite things into my own homemade Valentine’s Day gift.

He loves peanut butter and chocolate but instead of buying him a ton of Reese’s, I thought I’d put more love into it! I made these for him once last year and he was over the moon, gobbled them up within a day. I’m also trying something new after realizing that you can dip pretty much anything in chocolate and call it a truffle! I will use brownies for this particular one but other variations may include: cookie dough, banana bread, caramel, nutella, mint, or topping with candy bits, coconut, and drizzled caramel

(Optional: Spread extra topping over them after. I glazed the milk chocolate with white and the white with milk chocolate!)

3. Melt the chocolate according to your directions and dip each ball in. I kept leftover brownies for everyone to eat, one pan of brownies would make tons of truffles!

To make this into a gift:

1. Find a box and cut it to size. Cereal boxes cut down short would work.
2. Line it with tissue paper and place your truffles inside. Absolutely do not do this until your truffles are hard and dry, chill them first!

3. Fold them up and add a cute little card! I stamped and used a Stampin’ Up Project Life card, which are already decorated in fancy ways.

  1. These truffles look delicious and they do not seem to be difficult to make. I think I would prefer the brownie ones.
