Inspire Good Feelings with Vision Words + GIVEAWAY! Ends 3/9

quirky review disc

When the day is long and stressful, it’s amazing how a few encouraging sentences from my husband or lines in The Bible can make me feel so much better. Words are powerful tools that can change the course of entire lives. The two words, “I do”,  confirm a union to one person for the rest of your life. Another two words, “I’m pregnant”, offer your life an entirely new purpose. It’s no surprise that as a writer, I recognize the impact that words truly have and why I was so elated to hear of Vision Words.

Vision Words are sticky notes with words on them, but not just any words. These are phrases and quotes intended to help, inspire, and console you and the ones you love dearly. There are a variety of collections, depending upon the purpose you have for them: Be Happy, Believe in Yourself, Fitness, Gratitude, Love, Success, Scriptures of Encouragement, and Scriptures of Faith.

When you’re on a diet and trying to get in shape, you need a cheerleader, somebody to root you on and remind you to keep at it. The Fitness Vision Words have phrases like “Don’t Give Up” and “Do It For YOU”. Put them all over your gym bag, your gym equipment, next to the scale, and let Vision Words root you on. The Gratitude collection reminds you to be grateful for all you have. I find that if you take the time to be grateful for the ways that you are blessed, rather than ways that you’re not, you’ll be much happier with your life.

Speaking of happiness, Be Happy offers so many little reminders to just “Choose Happiness” and “Begin the Day with Joy”. Place these around your office and you may find that you don’t hate Mondays so much anymore…or any days, for that matter. Lately, I’ve been reminded by friends that I should be turning to prayer and scripture when things turn rough. Two great collections, Scriptures of Encouragement and Scriptures of Faith, are packed with scripture that’s applicable to your life situations.

It wasn’t just myself that I had in mind when I saw Vision Words. On the contrary, I immediately thought of how I could help others with these visual affirmations. In my head, I imagined filling subway cars, doctor’s offices, parks with these positive stickies. I pictured someone who’s just having a rough day, things are breaking and they’re late to everything, people keep yelling. She sits down, just for a second to try and breathe, and she looks up to find “You are a Warrior” from Believe in Yourself. For the first time that day, she smiles. She tells herself, “You know what, I AM a warrior.” This isn’t some romanticized idea because I’ve been this person. After a day full of unlucky incidents, you can be lifted up by some beautiful words.

I’ve used my Vision Words in various ways so far. I placed a simple “I Love You” sticky on my children’s bathroom mirror and I knew that especially my oldest would like it. The next morning, I could hear her happily exclaiming, “There’s a paper on the mirror that says ‘I love you!’ For Valentine’s Day, I also used the Love collection to add a sentiment to my husband’s laptop.

When gathering up a basket of items for a sick friend, I included some of my favorite soups, little remedies for fevers, hard candies, and stuck an encouraging scripture sticky to it before leaving it at her home. Vision Words are a great addition to any gift that you’re putting together, be it a baby shower, bridal shower, birthday, or just a pick-me-up. We do something called “Secret Sister” with my mom’s group and with all of the things I leave behind, I attach one of my Vision Words.

My little sister is a single mother after the death of her boyfriend last year, among many other personal trials, so I am always trying to send her positive reminders that everything will be okay and she can do anything she puts her mind to. Every time I put together a bag of things to give her for her and the baby, I attach the Success or Believe in Yourself stickies because she should love herself for who she is and she is on a mission.

I wholeheartedly believe that a few Vision Words placed in every room of every home, office, and transport would lift up so many people and make the entire world a better place. Get out there and stick some encouragement for you, your loved ones, and strangers!
