My Experience with Life-Changing doTERRA Essential Oils + GIVEAWAY! Ends 3/31

quirky review disc

As someone who really trusts the natural way of living, you would think that I would be an expert on essential oils by now. You would be wrong. Somehow, I’d never really tried essential oils before. People all around me raved about how wonderful they were but I just never got motivated enough to give them a shot. The “me now” is certainly scolding the “me then”! doTERRA is life.

Last year, I began getting frequent headaches but since I’m still nursing, I would attempt a mild over-the-counter pain reliever and a caffeinated beverage. Those are two things that aren’t exactly healthy options and certainly shouldn’t be used on a regular basis because your organs aren’t big fans of either one. I received my doTERRA Essential Oils but even then, I wasn’t sure about what they really were for. I was really taking this precious (as in Gollum “my precious!”) for granted.

One day I complained about the headaches to my best friend, an avid DoTerra user, and she asked if I had peppermint oil. I said, “I think I just got that!” and grabbed my 3-pack of essential oils. She told me to draw lines with it on my neck. Skeptically, I tried it. The first thing I noticed is that it smelled fantastic. Within minutes, my headache was gone and I was actually astonished. She kept on telling me, “I told you so!”

I immediately became such an advocate for doTERRA Essential Oils that you would think I sell the stuff (I don’t!). My other best friend was complaining about her migraines and I insisted that she at least give the peppermint oil a try. She was just as surprised to discover that it massively decreased her migraines when even her prescription medicines weren’t doing the trick! It’s like MAGIC!!

I received the doTERRA Introductory Kit which contains the peppermint oil, lavender, and lemon. Aside from the headache magic, the peppermint can be ingested to help calm an upset stomach, added to shampoo and conditioner, or used to make your own toothpaste and mouthwash. (Find the toothpaste and mouthwash recipes on Pinterest, my husband’s uncle makes his own and loves it!)

You can add the lemon to your water, use it with honey to soothe a sore throat, or to clean the kitchen! Mix it with other oils to make your own natural bug repellent. Dilute the lemon oil in water and utilize it when cutting apples to keep the edges from your apples from turning brown! It can be used for allergies, weight loss, hair, skin, and nail care, and so many other things!

When I had severe sunburn, I tried applying the lavender oil on it. Not only did it decrease the pain but I noticed that the redness lessened as well.  It can be used after you wax your eyebrows to calm down the skin irritation. Actually, it’s really beneficial for calming nearly anything! It can relax your mind, your skin, your chapped lips, irritated scalp, basically anything you can think of!

All of these oils can be diffused in an oil diffuser and combining them with other oils can change up their purpose. I feel like the uses are endless. I went over to my best friends and got a peek at her doTERRA Essential Oils collection and she explained to me a bunch of what each oil could be used for. There were tons of answers for each oil alone, plus whatever that oil could be combined with to do other things.

She rubbed some of the oils on my daughter’s stomach when she was dealing with severe constipation and my daughter said it really helped with the stomach ache. I’ve already told my husband that this stuff was so beneficial that it’s going to be added to our monthly budget until I have everything they offer and he agreed after seeing how happy they were making me! These oils can help me with pain and boo-boos, illness, relaxation, focus…I feel like the only thing they aren’t going to help me with is laundry. Oh no wait, you can use them as laundry detergent too. I’m so excited about doTERRA!
