We Had a Ball at the Harlem Globetrotters Game!

A couple of weeks ago, I shared my excitement about attending a Harlem Globetrotters game with my family and I thought I should let you know how it went! The Harlem Globetrotters tour, well…the globe, playing awesome basketball games full of tricks and fun. The game we attended was at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City with seats primed to watch the action!

The Harlem Globetrotters game was similar to any other basketball game in that there were points scored, running down the court and making baskets, slam dunks, and even foul shots. In a regular game though, I’m pretty sure that the basketball never floats to the top of the stadium! I think that may have been my favorite part!

My kids range in age from one through nine and even my one year old was clapping along and dancing with the music. The kids were all completely cracking up when the mascot, Big G, came out and did a hilarious dance while running around on the court. It was such a sweet moment to look over and notice all of the kids laughing so hard!

I enjoyed watching them play and dare I say that even the other team had some really great players? There were some beautiful shots made by both sides! Apparently, the Globetrotters even have a villain nemesis so we got to witness them put him in his place! The kids were loving that they were actually allowed to ‘boo’ at him.

The shenanigans by these players were just too funny. They were always messing with each other and at one point, the player named Ace was actually just sitting on top of the basket and dancing! As a mom, I was like “Please don’t fall, please don’t fall” but she did a flip and all kinds of craziness. These players have some real skill and I don’t just mean at playing basketball!

Afterward, they make it a point of spending a significant time signing autographs for the children so we bought a couple of basketballs and our kids got a chance to meet most of the players. Ace was such a sweet woman and since our daughter is also called Ace, we had to make sure to get a picture of the two Aces together!

We all had such a fantastic time, it was a really great family event for us and I’d like to think that the kids will never forget it. I’m beaming just thinking back on it.
