Who is the crunchy mom next door?

Welcome! Inspired by my friend Darci over at Everything Mommyhood, I’ve decided to start blogging about my life, opinions on products and services, hobbies, interests, and thoughts in general!

My name is Tiffany, I’m a relatively and I’m married to a short baby-faced man whom I said represented a leprechaun the first day I met him…and still scored a second date! He is eight and half years older than I am but it works for us! We have three daughters ages 5, 3, and 1, and are expecting our first son this summer via planned homebirth.

I just finished my second semester of full-time online college courses through a local school and in my down time I’m reading everything Ina May Gaskin has ever written, before returning to the Hypnobirthing book that helped me have a beautiful, natural hospital birth with my last daughter.

We are a family that co-sleeps, babywears, occasionally cloth diapers and I breastfeed, make my own baby food, and use alternative feminine products but I didn’t adopt the “crunchy” title until I started getting the funny looks for mentioning my placenta encapsulation (haha).

My favorite hobbies are sewing, crocheting, and crafting in general. I love recycling things to make something totally new and fun! My most recent project was turning an awkward blue and white polka-dotted hand-me-down dress into an adorable purse!

I’m very enthusiastic about birth and all things pregnancy-related. Reading, television, and movies are my favorite nightly activities and I prefer the science fiction, comedy, law, thriller, and birth genres but anything that makes me think or involves true creativity and imagination gets my attention.

In my life, I’ve wanted to become so many things. When I was little, I wanted to be an architect because I wanted to design buildings. Then, I wanted to be a forensic investigator because it was just so fascinating. After that, I debated between a judge and a lawyer because law was just so interesting but I wasn’t sure if I was better at arguing or making decisions. Clearly, it wasn’t the latter. Later, I thought about becoming a physiologist while I took some time to consider my future. Finally during this consideration, I became a mother and wife. It was never something I had thought about but has suited me quite well and made come true dreams that I never knew I had. Now everything else that I achieve or strive for is just icing on the cake…

Now there are just oodles of products that make my life easier, better, more fun, and more efficient and I can’t wait to share them all with you!
