My favorite nurseries have always been the simple yet elegant ones. I picture a baby’s name or even just a letter in pastels on the wall, minimal decor but that all accent each other beautifully. Liz and Roo bedding fits perfectly into my ideal nursery.

What caught my attention the most were the gorgeous minky blankets. Minky has always been a favorite fabric of mine and when I say that, a lot of people ask me what in the world “minky” is. Minky is basically the softest fabric I have ever felt. I love the texture for myself and I imagine that if baby’s could voice their opinions, they would share in my preference.

Blankets are important in my household because not only are they used often, but my children will become attached to one and bring it everywhere. For that reason, the quality of our blankets matters significantly. We want something that will hold up over the years and hopefully not be in tatters before we can store it away as a keepsake. Liz and Roo minky receiving blankets are of a fantastic quality and I can definitely see them holding up over the years.

I chose the lovely “Gray Elephant Minky Receiving Blanket” from Liz and Roo. We didn’t find out the gender of our baby this pregnancy and grey was my favorite neutral color, along with these adorable elephants. These were some elegant elephants that I could envision working with many different nursery designs and other colors too, like pink, blue, lavender, or a mint green. On one side, you have the cute little elephants in grey and white, and on the other side, the soft luxe grey minky than I’m so enamored with. The blanket is 40″ x 29″, a perfect size for snuggling, tummy time, or taking on the go in the car seat and stroller.

Our Liz and Roo Gray Elephant Minky Receiving Blanket, I believe, will grow with my little girl. I imagine her toting it around with her and wanting to sleep with it at night, then someday finally being ready to part with it and thrilled to hear me tell her that we won’t get rid of it. Years from now, we’ll pull it out of the attic and she can pass it on to her first baby. This is that kind of blanket, the special, memorable kind. Soft and sturdy, sweet and versatile. We’ve got so many blankets from retail stores that struggle to last through one baby, threads coming undone and texture turned to stiff. I’m very excited to finally have something worthwhile to save for my baby.

  7. I’d love to win this blanket for my friend Crystal. She just had her son last week and still doesn’t have much for him. My son has a Liz and Roo blanket and its the only way I can get him to sleep without me. I’d just love to be able to give her something she needs.
