For as long as I can remember, basketball has been my favorite sport. Whether I’m playing, watching on television, or playing basketball video games from the 90s, I’m having a ball. (No pun intended.) I haven’t really had “a team” since Michael Jordan retired so I just follow along with everybody. The Harlem Globetrotters, on the other hand, are everybody’s team. With their fun, family-friendly antics, you’ll have a blast whether you even like basketball or not.
Surprisingly, I’ve never seen the Harlem Globetrotters play but I can hear that theme song whistled in my head every time I say their name. I always wanted to go as a kid so I can understand why my son has been asking me every day, “Is it time to go to the basketball game yet?!” I’m so eager to take him to his first basketball game but even more for his first game to be the Globetrotters! Although, this game may very well set his standards very high for every game he sees from here on out!
If you aren’t aware of the Harlem Globetrotters, let me enlighten you! Obviously, they play basketball but not just any basketball game. Their games are full of tricks, dunking, and flips. So as to surprise my children, all I’ve told them is that they can balance and spin a ball on their pointer finger and they think that’s cool. Imagine the shock when the encounter the backflips and shots from the other side of the court!
We absolutely cannot wait to catch them in Atlantic City tomorrow night! It’s not too late to snag tickets, just check the info below! If you’re not local, check out their website for more tour information.
