We’ve been trying to broaden our dinner horizons lately. It gets boring to have the same meals week in and week out, even though it’s so easy to stick to routine meals because you know that the kids will eat it. My husband is often more adventurous than I am in the kitchen but sometimes I surprise myself! I toyed around with a beef stir-fry that I’m really thrilled with and so is the family! It’s such a basic recipe that I think it’s a perfect quick one to throw together on a day where you’re just tired of the same old, same old!
Ingredients:
1 orange, juiced
1 lb Stir-fry beef strips
1 tablespoon orange zest
1/2Â teaspoon orange extract
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
pinch of red pepper
3 carrots, peeled into strips
1 head of broccoli
Directions:
1. In a frying pan, heat a little bit of canola oil and cook the beef through. Then remove it from the pan and set it aside.
2. Fry broccoli and carrots in the pan with the orange extract until desired softness.
3. Mix the orange juice, water, cornstarch, soy sauce, sesame oil, zest, and red pepper together.
4. Add the liquid mixture in with the vegetables, then add the beef.
5. Serve over rice and enjoy!
This sounds really delicious and fairly easy as well. I need quick and easy on those crazy, busy school nights. Thanks for the recipe!
Yummy! I love stir frys but never make them at home, I am definitely going to give this recipe a try. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
This sounds so good, I not tried a stir fry with orange extract, should be a good trick! I haven’t made a stir fry in a while, now I want to make this one soon!
Oh my goodness I would love to make this for my family! This recipe looks so good!
