Dress for Success with the NEW Lands’ End in Bridgewater!

Fall’s fast approaching and that means the dreaded expedition into storage. The family gathered together rummaging through past fashions to salvage sizes fit for the upcoming year. This also means my 4 kids complaining of musty odors and unfashionable hand-me-downs. Luckily, this year we happen to be foraging through the containers on the same weekend Lands’ End had their Grand Opening at Chimney Rock Crossing in Bridgewater NJ!

It’s not often we splurge on new outerwear for my small army but knowing the durability and fun styles of Lands’ End, I decided to treat the kids to an afternoon of shopping and lunch! We were lucky enough to arrive in time for the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the first stand-alone location in NJ. Chimney Rock Crossing Shopping Center is brand new with plenty of parking and many restaurants within a short walk from the Lands’ End Store.

We had never been to a grand opening before, so to see all the hustle and bustle of new business was exciting. Members of the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce all gathered together for an enthusiastic welcome and kick off to the days’ festivities! Some of which included a chance to win one of several Lands’ End Heritage Duffles and the first 100 customers received one of the brands’ heritage product totes with a purchase of $75 or more.

Just inside the store entrance were complimentary shortbread cookies customized with the navy blue Lands’ End logo and drinks to wash them down. The kids were tickled to find an iconic lighthouse picture to color and rainbows of crayons to appease. Plus, once they finished they could bring them into the store to have them hung up for all shoppers to see! In exchange for their artistic talent, each child received a free tote bag keychain!

The coolest part hands down was the Lands’ End AirStream Seagoing™ Duffle. The camper is currently touring the country showcasing the new Heritage Collection. Anyone can enter to win a 5-day stay in the Airstream and I know I could definitely use a 5-day stay in the adorable portable home!

The Heritage Collection is true to the Wisconsin-proof outerwear durability while adding a pop of color to their classic styles. The glow of atlas yellow, fusion pink, vibrant clover, and electric blue could be found in many of the classic styles such as the Squall Parka and Seagoing Backpacks. The kids absolutely loved the bright backpacks and I was fond of the sturdy construction. The durable polyester fabric can withstand scuffs and abrasion easily and are sure to last the entire school year, if not longer! I’d highly recommend them for any kid that is rough on their school supplies. The best part is next year they’ll still be good enough condition for the hand-me-down pile!

My kids flew around the store exploring all the soft textures and colorful looks they had to offer. My youngest saw the ThermoPlume® Parka in Rubellite and made her mind up instantly! It’s a festive cranberry shade parka which is about 2 inches longer than typical jackets. It’s water-resistant quilted shell and PrimaLoft® insulation will work great on days when the weather is questionable. The cutest thing is the color flatters my little girls’ rosy cheeks!
My son also discovered the Sherpa Lined Quilted Jacket in Tranquil Teal. He already expressed how excited he is to wear it sledding this year! The jacket is so cozy and warm, I’m sure he’ll spend tons of time playing outside!

A great new concept Lands’ End has created is an in-store kiosk station where customers can check out. This new digital technology will be a wonderful time saver for the busy Mom! In addition to checking out, customers can find the entire collection online and place an order that will be shipped directly to their home for FREE! Plus, all orders can be returned free of charge. Now that’s convenience!
