Food is fabulous, isn’t it? I’m sitting here thinking of almost nothing but food at the moment, actually. I live for good flavor. This is why when I find a flavor that is both original and fantastic, I’m obsessed. Big Bad Dads Homemade Jams & Jellies supplied some wonderful goodies for my taste buds to review and I’m delighted to share my enjoyment with you!
Big Bad Dads Homemade Jams & Jellies is a company started by a father of two living by the beach in New Jersey. He creates jams and jellies from scratch, in various delicious flavors. I received the Sweet Onion Jam, Hot Pepper Jelly, Curried Carrot Butter, Peach Chipotle Jam, Moroccan Squash Butter, and Blackberry Bourbon Vanilla Jam.
I got a little sneak peek (taste) of the banana nut bread jam even though Big Bad Dads is currently sold out. As a banana lover (some have said I may as well be a monkey!), I really went nuts over this one. No, that wasn’t an intended pun but there’s no other word to describe it! I immediately informed Big Bad Dads that I need to know the moment that it comes in because “I need that in my life” and I fully stand by that statement. The description recommends all kinds of things but mentions oatmeal and I haven’t tried it yet but I know that it would be PERFECT. My mouth waters just thinking about it.
Speaking of the descriptions, I absolutely love that Big Bad Dads Homemade Jams & Jellies offers suggestions on how to use their products. I’m just clueless about some things and others I’d never have thought of, so it’s good to know that something might taste good on meat or in a dessert! If you follow their Facebook page, Big Bad Dads often posts all types of things created with their jams and jellies and they’ve got a section on their website listing many recipes too!
The Sweet Onion Jam spread on our pork chops made for the most delectable chop! I could smell these beauties from two rooms away and demanded to have a piece before they were even finished. The Sweet Onion Jam is suggested as a great glaze or marinade for meat, as well as salad dressing or with cheese! We’re planning on using the Peach Chipotle Jam for a tasty change in our usual ham dinner. I put the South Jersey Jam into our scrambled eggs and the kids loved it, they all wanted more “sauce” in their eggs! Most of the jams include serving with goat cheese as a suggestion so I tried several that way and with breads and bagels just so spice up the norm. Wonderful, all of them! Each one so different from the other.
I used the Blackberry Bourbon Vanilla Jam to create my own tart pastries which was an awesome suggestion on the Big Bad Dad’s site. They were PHENOMENAL! I’m planning to make oodles more and incorporate their other fruity flavors!
Big Bad Dads Homemade Jams & Jellies has so many flavors to offer, from the sweet to the spicy to the seasonally divine. Check out the list of flavors on their website to see which have the potential to leave you hankering for more too!
If you’ve got an occasion or holiday to celebrate, I love the gift ideas on Big Bad Dads. Small jars in gift baskets, holiday loaf pans complete with spreaders, and even custom labels perfect for wedding favors! What a fantastic idea that sets your gift apart from the fruit cakes and the candles. With a taste like this, you’ll be a memorable colleague, cousin, or friend!

I can always get behind some good jam! Spicy jams are some of my favorites though.
Seriously… I’m loving the possibilities!

They all sound absolutely amazing! I really want them all!!! I am a sucker for anything pumpkin though, so pumpkin butter sounds divine. I love that this is a local South Jersey company too! Heading off to like their FB page next
The hot pepper jelly sounds awesome! I love pepper jelly, and the store brands never get it quite right. I bet this would be delicious.
How do you choose? They all sound pretty good. If I had to pick maybe I’d start with Cranberry Jalapeño.
Triple Berry Jam should be good with hot biscuits.
The Banana Nut Bread Jam sounds yummy–
I love spicy so the inferno jam sounds great, but the blackberry bourbon vanilla sounds like a winner for the whole family!
This looks good!
Banana Nut Bread Jam sounds delish! It’s sold out though.

Anything cranberry sounds yummy!
I think the Pumpkin Butter and Peach Chipotle are right up my alley.
This sounds like my jam! (pardon the pun) Some people are just better at the homemade jam work than others. I’d love to try a new product, especially if there’s the chance of getting some res raspberry jam or preserves later on.
Banana nut bread.
Ooh! I love homemade goods and local food – sign me up!
This sounds so delicious!
The Cranberry Jalapeno sounds awesome! I could totally see that glazed on some chicken or on a hot turkey sandwich. Awww..the possibilities are endless!
Jalapeno sounds good!
If I have to pick just one, since they all sound absolutely amazing, I would say peach chipotle.
