Pain can be managed in many different ways. People are used to medicine being a quick fix but there are several other tricks, techniques, and remedies that can help you to heal. During pregnancy and labor, there are various ailments you tend to experience. Your back might ache, feet might be sore, and you just might be dying for a full night of deep sleep. I’m a big fan of breathing exercises, visualization methods, and aromatherapy when I’m dealing with pain. Given this, I completely fell in love with Sootheze Pals.

Sootheze Pals are incredibly lovable stuffed animals that are for hot/cold AND aromatherapy. They are filled with a custom blend of nine different FDA approved food-quality herbs like lavender, rose hips, and cinnamon, etc. Inside of these cuties is also something called flaxseed, which is known to hold heat very well. You can cool your Sootheze Pals by placing them in the freezer for at least two hours and heat them by putting them in the microwave (more detailed instructions of the tag of your specific pal).

Now, I’m going to tell you that it does recommend Sootheze Pals for ages 3 and up but my son was just under 2 when we started to cuddle our little guy and he did okay so I think with adult supervision (as with most items as a parent, you must use your discretion and be attentive because anything can happen and kids are tiny MacGuyvers) you can safely share this new friend.

The struggle to decide which of the Sootheze Pals was most adorable was a big one. I asked the kids and we went back and forth repeatedly. They are all too sweet! After much deliberation, I finally decided on the Toasty Penguin. I’m a blogger and I received several large and awesome items on the same day as my Toasty Penguin but let me tell you, he made my day. The loudest “Awwwwwwwww” in the land could probably be heard in the Arctic. The picture didn’t do him justice, he was just so cuddly.

That night, I began to have pains in my legs and my husband suggested that I utilize my new penguin friend. I microwaved him according to the directions and within no time, my legs felt wonderful and I felt so relaxed. You see, lavender is one of the calming herbs inside the Sootheze Pals Toasty Penguin. Hugging this warm little stuffed animal that gave off this relaxing scent was amazing. I immediately saw with my own eyes what a fantastic idea this was and how useful it could be for so many people!

What a wonderfully therapeutic idea this is. Soothing for the body, the mood, the senses. Hot/cold packs exist, hot/cold packs with herbs may even exist, but I’ve never snuggled with one. I imagined all of the types of people and situations that Sootheze Pals would be good for:

  • A child dealing with night terrors
  • Your wife on Valentine’s Day (instead of a boring singing teddy whose batteries will die in a year unless it drives her crazy first, get her some aromatherapy cuddles)
  • Pregnant and laboring mamas
  • People with chronic pain and/or trouble sleeping
  • Someone suffering from depression, anxiety, loss, trauma, dementia, and so many other medical or emotional struggles
  • The center of a baby shower gift basket
  • Someone with special needs
  • Really, anyone who appreciates cuteness and/or hot/cold therapy and/or aromatherapy

Sootheze Pals ranks up on my list of top everything I’ve reviewed on all blogs. The concept is unique and the product is extremely useful. My kids love snuggling with it and I’m not ashamed to admit that I do too. When it’s freezing in the winter, I know that I’ll love laying with my Toasty Penguin while he’s all toasty, and the lavender will help me get relaxed and fall asleep. I imagine it’s like an aromatherapy stress ball except that you can hug it!

Sootheze Pals are amazing for children and adults, special needs and chronic pain, stressed out and just plain fun. I would recommend it over and over again and I’m so excited about this product! Every bit of my enthusiasm is genuine and I never thought one of my favorite products would be “a stuffed animal” but it’s not just a stuffed animal, it’s a really great tool for so many things and I think it could help a lot of people!

  17. O M G. Can I just say THANK YOU for hosting this giveaway?!?!? If not I would never have found about these adorable snuggly things! My twins had lamb pillows that had an aromatherapy satchel inside, but those quickly bit the dust due to lack of quality. These look so awesome! I’d pick the Manatee one if it were my choice, Lol. But I’d let my twins each pick one(Considering if I win, Would have to buy another 🙂 )

  32. the penguin is adorable. have to admit that i already own one (the honey bear) which i have had for over 10 years. it’s still in great condition. my husband thinks it’s “wrong” to stuff a teddy bear in a microwave, but hey… it works for me 🙂 BTW: this is a great gift for a teenage girls who have just become women. Sootheze helps with cramps.
