Ever since I had my first baby, there was one brand name for laundry that I heard referenced most: Dreft. Even my pediatricians suggested washing my baby clothes in Dreft because it was hypoallergenic and gentler on the skin. The smell was nice and it was used by every mom I knew! At the time, I didn’t even know that Dreft made other household products.
Since it was time to baby-proof the house all over again, I knew that it was time to stock up on Dreft products. There was plenty of pre-baby and post-baby cleaning was on the to-do list. With Dreft All Purpose Cleaner, All Purpose Wipes, and Odor Eliminator & Fabric Refresher, I knew that I could get it all done easily!
Needing to clean the kitchen, bathroom, living room, and pretty much every surface, there was a lot of deep cleaning that had to happen but it had to be kid-friendly. I never use bleach of any kind because children will rub every surface and put their hands in their mouths. Dreft Gentle Clean Multi-Surface Spray or All Purpose Cleaner, is really useful for wiping down glass, the counters, and even their toys. I’ve been using it to do my deep cleaning of the kitchen, scrubbing the stove and microwave too. Being safe for kids makes me comfortable using it in our eating areas. There are no strong smells and the ingredients are derived from natural sources.
Dreft Gentle Clean Multi-Surface Wipes are great for the same things as the spray but I like the ease of them. I keep them out for the quickie cleans, like the repetitive wiping of the TV after fingers have streaked across it. They’re perfect for keeping in the car or the stroller to take on the go. Drop a toy on the ground at the zoo and wipe it down before giving it back. Enjoy lunch out somewhere and wipe down the only open table that hasn’t been tended to yet!\
I love the Dreft Fabric Refresher and Odor Eliminator because I feel like everything smells when you have kids. Everything is sticky and covered in I don’t know what. We’ve also got two dogs and a cat, so there’s that smell to combat. Our dogs are nice and clean but they still get that wet dog smell sometimes, it’s terrible. Overall, the house doesn’t smell like garbage but it does smell lived in and I like it to have this brand new smell to it, like that of a new car or pair of shoes. The Dreft Fabric Refresher and Odor Eliminator helps to get smells out of fabric, carpet, upholstery, bedding, car seats, and any other fabric you can think of!
Having such a nice supply of baby-friendly cleaning products makes things a bit easier for me and I find it a lot healthier than many of the alternatives. Also, the smell is light and pleasant so I actually enjoy using it. Some other natural products I’ve tried still leave behind an odd stench. Thanks Dreft, for making nesting a piece of cake!

I would love to say that I loved Dreft but I hated it!! It made my son’s clothes smell so strong and feel so rough 🙁 Thankfully I rewashed everything in free and clear detergent before he was born!! We have such sensitive skin that I can only imagine the reaction I would’ve had in my newborn!! My pediatrician told us that more and more people are recommending to NOT use it!! They recommend an all natural wash or a free and clear wash with no scent. I wanted to like dreft and wanted to believe it had been tried and tested but I ended up so angry I purchased a detergent that would have most likely given my son a horrible reaction.
