Take the Hassle Out of Shopping with the Curbside App + DISCOUNT!

new disclosure

Some of you love to shop, I know. I see your memes about spending hours and hours in Target just to take a break from the kids and the ones about coming home with a bunch of things you don’t need. Well, I hate shopping. I don’t get out much without my kids and when I do, I don’t want to do something is basically an errand. No thanks!

Right now, I’ve got a three month old who still spends most of her day nursing. It’s cold out there and I’ve got to bundle her up and try not to upset her while I strap her into a car seat . By the time we get to the store, she’s probably asleep. Now I’m either going to lug that boulder of a car seat around the store or wake her up to put her in her carrier. Just the thought of waking her up terrifies me because I know she may not fall back to sleep! Oh, what a hassle. Some days there is no choice, I’ve got to pick up diapers, wipes, ingredients I forgot I needed for dinner, etc. and it’s not like there’s a drive-through for those…or is there?

Welcome to Curbside, the to-go app for your shopping needs! Curbside allows you to do all of your shopping in a snap, without all of the trouble. After downloading and signing up for the free app, just click the participating store nearby and order, just as if you were shopping online.

After placing your order, pickup instructions will pop up and you will shortly receive a notification via text and e-mail to let you know that your order is ready.

If you’re unable to pick up your order, at most locations you can request for another Curbside user to pick it up. After they accept the request, they will get all of the necessary information. Our closest Curbside location was near one of my husband’s job sites so I sent a request for him to pick it up.

When he accepted it, he was able to see what the order was and where to go. I ordered diapers (a frequent need around here) along with a little treat of beef jerky for him. Since he often stops at the store for me on the way home from work, I thought this seemed like a really nifty tool for him to just pull up, grab everything, and be on his way! The beef jerky came in a cute little Curbside reusable tote, too!

Curbside is unbelievably easy and convenient. After your order is all set and ready for pickup, you’ll just pull up into the designated space. The store employee uses their tracker to see that you’re arriving to pick up the order and brings it all right out to you! You don’t even have to get out of the car.

If you’d like, there is also an indoor pickup option if you don’t mind going in but just want to skip all of the running up and down aisles! At least that means you wouldn’t come home with a bunch of things you don’t need, like the memes say!

Curbside is the stuff of my dreams, where all errands are done in passing and there’s more time for the fun activities in life! I’d love to get a drive-by haircut…who has time for that?! Seriously though, when you don’t have time to make dinner, you’re eating from a drive-through. When you need money, you just drive by a bank. Fill your kids prescription, the pharmacy window. Why can’t shopping be this way too?

In case you were wondering, Curbside is completely free and there is no mark up from the retailer. You can use your Target REDCard with its usual 5% discount included. You can also use some loyalty/club cards, like CVS ExtraCare or Sephora Beauty Insider. If the item you want to pick up is not perishable, you should pick it up within two days of placing the order. If it is perishable, it should be picked up before the end of the day.

Curbside is currently available in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, New Jersey/New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia. If it’s not in your area, get talking about it. I think buzz always helps something like this catch on everywhere and I don’t know about you but I want to see Curbside all over the place!

  1. Wow, I had no idea Target offered this! That is where I frequently shop, and curbside would be so convenient as I also have a four month old that goes everywhere with me. I’m downloading the app and checking it out right now!

  2. It looks like Curbside isn’t in my area yet but we do have a store or two you can do it through their website. It looks super convenient for those of us with littles, people who work long hours, or people who just hate shopping. I will keep an eye out for Curbside to hit Ohio.

  3. I had not heard of Curbside before this post. This would be great for people who have handicaps that make it difficult to get in and out of their car. It isn’t in my area but I may try when I visit the city.

  4. This sounds so nice and I wish we had it here. It is so hard for me to get in and out of a car because of health reason, this would be perfect for me. We can pre-order but still have to go into the store and get it. I love that there is no extra charge for this….

  5. I would have LOVED it if this had been available when my son was a little guy. It’s so neat that Target’s doing this now, I hope it spreads to other cities. I know it’d be very popular with exhausted moms everywhere.

  6. I had never heard of Curbside before but I am interested into looking more into it. Thanks for the info!

  7. Oh wow I never heard of this service through Target. I have a baby on the way so this is going to be extremely helpful. Next time I go to my local Target I am going to see if they offer this!!

  8. Interesting concept, not surprised though! I guess this could come in very handy depending on each person’s life situation! I enjoy doing my own shopping currently!!! But awesome, something worth trying!
