Weekly Sweet Treats at Your Doorstep with Doorstep Desserts + GIVEAWAY! Ends 10/6

quirky review disc

Last week, I told my mom about one of the most important sayings I live by: “Always leave room for dessert.” I am obsessed with dessert, any kind of it. If it’s sweet, I’m interested in trying it. Needless to say, I absolutely had to give Doorstep Desserts a taste! Doorstep Desserts is a subscription box that delivers pre-baked and portioned ingredients to make delicious recipes…right to your doorstep!

Obviously the thing that appeals to me most about Doorstep Desserts is the deliciousness. There’s no way that they won’t catch on because who doesn’t want a variety of tasty desserts on a regular basis? Someone I don’t want to know, that’s who! I received a unique dessert that I had never even heard of before, called a Confetti Sushi Roll. The presentation was quite similar to that of actual sushi in that it looked elegant, but it was so colorful and well, sweet!

To create this delightful Confetti Sushi Roll, our Doorstep Desserts box came with pre-baked confetti cupcakes, white donut icing and white buttercream icing in plastic containers, along with a recipe card to show you how to put your dessert together! For this particular dessert, you were to crush up the cupcakes and flatten them into a dough. Then, spread the icing on them and roll it up.

Mine didn’t come out as beautiful as the ones in the picture but I would like to blame the fact that I incorporated littles into my process. You see, my girls are always wanting to help with cooking and baking and with this being such a safe and simple task, I thought it was a perfect time to include the kids! Then, since I let them help make it, I had to let them help eat it!

What I love about Doorstep Desserts is it’s easy and it’s clear that they’re working hard to come up with new and yummy desserts for their members. I think that this subscription box is perfect for parents like me, whether it be something you share with your children as a fun activity and treat, or whether it’s something you hide in the closet to eat and enjoy when they’re not around. There are subscription boxes for underwear and hats, and that’s all well and good, but none of those are going to feed me delicious treats frequently so this might have to be my absolute favorite. This would be great as a gift for anyone also, maybe someone you know who would appreciate that monthly pick-me-up! Do I recommend it? Only if you have tastebuds.

  1. I love so many, but my all time favorite is definitely maple walnut cake! Our local bakery makes it the best in the state and is well know for it, so we get one for every birthday in the family!

  2. I don’t really have a favorite dessert. I love all sweets especially chocolate. Cakes, pies, brownies, cookies, ect…all desserts.

  3. Banana cream pie with a vanilla wafer crust, bananas mixed into the filling, whipped cream layered on top with bananas and slivered toasted pecans!

  4. I had to really think about this one because I have a huge sweet tooth. My favorite, favorite dessert is actually kind of boring though: I love vanilla cake with whipped vanilla frosting.

  5. I love most desserts one of my favorites is cake and especially petit fours, there is nothing better than a tiny cake.

  6. I love black forest cake because of the chocolate cake, cherries filling, and white icing with cherries and chocolate shavings.

  7. My favorite dessert in Tiramisu! My husband and I had it for our anniversary one year and since then it is a must!
