Those of you who are pumpkin spice addicts have decided that it’s already autumn, I know, but officially it begins next week! It’s just starting to cool off here so I, for one, haven’t even begun to decorate yet. I enjoy making my own decor because it’s fun and I can tailor it exactly to my liking. There are so many amazing fall decor ideas out there and here are just some of the wonderful (and very doable!) ones I’ve come across!
Here’s one of my own, executed a couple of years ago as one of my first decor projects. Since I struggled with the idea of cutting up any of my books, I chose a “scary” comic with little text. I think that text has much more of an autumn look to it but it’s such an easy project that if you had a lot of books you were finished with, you could really do a lot of neat pumpkin books! So many ways to change this up but simple to do with things you have lying around the house!
Fall Banner with Book Page Leaves
This is another great project done with book pages and I think that it looks so sweet.
DIY Felted Dryer Ball Pumpkins
Not only are these little pumpkins adorable, they’re safe if the kids get their hands on them. We can’t exactly decorate with anything glass in my house right now…
Homemade Aromatherapy Playdough
Relieve the stress of the holidays with aromatherapy and the soothing kneading of the dough, I’d imagine. Darling and smells just like fall!
How to Make a Custom Burlap Sign
My kitchen is in desperate need of a project like this, I’m so in love with it.
Upcycle Plaid Shirts into Home Decor
Upcycle projects are the absolute most fun and I particularly love the pillows made with these plaid shirts.
What a unique idea, I haven’t come across anything else like this and it’s just so cool!
How have I not thought of this?! Completely genius using things you probably have right in your yard. It doesn’t get more fall than this!
These are just the cutest little pumpkins ever, simply put!
Sparkly Fall Leaf Napkin Rings
We do Thanksgiving at my mom’s house and I feel like I could contribute these sweet napkin rings to the table decor.
I have been searching for great crafts to do with all of those tins we recycle and these jack o’lanterns are totally it.
This was one of my favorites because I really need some outdoor fall decor. I think we may put one of these in our front garden!
This project tells me that I’m not the only one who stares at the empty shoeboxes wondering, “What can I do with this”, knowing that there is something!
Okay, these are treats and not necessarily fall decor but they were too cute not to share and I’m perfectly fine with decorating my house with edible things… I wish everything was edible, if I’m being honest.
DIY Galvanized Bucket for Fall
I had to look up what galvanized meant (coat with a protective layer of zinc) but all I knew is that the bucket was too pretty and essential to fall decor not to share. The project looks really easy and the result is so beautiful.
Fall Mason Jars with Natural Decor
Mason jar projects are the best because I buy so many homemade jams and am left with a wealth of mason jars, big and small. These are so unique and lovely.
I’m definitely going to be making my own fall flag this year, this pumpkin flag is delightful!
We have so much clay in the house and so many shelves these would look great on, plus I think the kids could help make this one!
Thanks to all of these lovely bloggers for allowing me to share their creations with you and thank you for reading!
So many great things I would love to make. The shirt pillow and the painted pumpkin cans are two of my favorites.
So many great ideas and so much inspiration! I really loved the leaf banner. I think that would be a fun activity to try with my kids!
I especially love the Felted Dryer Ball Pumpkins.
some really cute ideas. I love doing crafts with my boys, I love the shirt pillow, easy way to recycle old shirts.
