When I received an invitation to the Blogger Breakfast with A.C. Moore and the Garden State Discovery Museum, I knew that no matter our schedules, I would be there. You see, I grew up on the Garden State Discovery Museum. My little sister and I would play waitresses in the Silver Diner section and be local news reporters and engulf ourselves in the giant bubble. Some of the best memories of my life lie within those walls.
On top of this, to see my favorite store’s name? Sign me up, yesterday! A.C. Moore is a phenomenal craft store that carries every craft item I’ve ever needed, has the sweetest and most helpful employees, and has a store located really close to my home. Of course it’s my go-to place! If I won a shopping spree to only one store for the rest of my life, I would choose A.C. Moore.

You may be asking what a children’s museum and craft store have to do with each other. The new Millie’s Which Craft Art Studio has just opened up this year in the Garden State Discovery Museum! Since I was little, Garden State Discovery Museum has always continuously added new and exciting things to their layout. Millie’s Which Craft Art Studio allows for the experiential art add-on for field trips and birthday parties. The goal of the Millie’s Which Craft Art Studio is to encourage and celebrate creativity for children and families. If your children are anything like mine (and me!), doing crafts is a fabulous addition to any party.
Even the bloggers had a blast with these crafts! The A.C. Moore craftologist helped to organize two great crafts for all of us. We all sat talking each other’s ears off while we ripped tissue paper for a lantern and cut paper for an owl puppet. It was actually quite refreshing and relaxing, I would definitely go to a party where we spend the entire time crafting together like this! The crafts that we made came out absolutely adorable and it was wonderful to meet and learn about other bloggers!
This breakfast wasn’t just about the awesome new craft studio though, this was about creating new partnerships with the some of the best this area offers. The first thing we did when we arrived was enjoy a delicious breakfast provided by the Silver Diner, the local farm-to-table restaurant. The men who served us were so polite and the food was quite tasty!
After breakfast, my children headed off to play with my friend while we all went into the theatre to hear more about the Garden State Discovery Museum and A.C. Moore. At one point during the presentation, the daughter of A.C. Moore’s owner explained to us all of the wonderful charitable organizations that A.C. Moore works with. One of my favorites was the upcoming work with The Crayon Initiative, which melts down used crayons to make new ones for children’s hospitals. It feels great to support a business that focuses so much on helping other charities. Every time I go to pick up craft goodies, this is going to be in the back of my mind.
Later, we got a sneak peek at the new Kid Fit gym that will be opening right behind the Garden State Discovery Museum. It’s going to have a foam pit, zip lines, and there will be classes too. You’ll be able to add the admission to your Garden State Discovery Museum ticket, so basically you had better set aside an entire day of fun! I’m extremely excited for this to be ready and you should stay tuned for more news on that!
We all had a wonderful time at the Blogger Breakfast. I’m looking forward to bringing more features to you from both the Garden State Discovery Museum and A.C. Moore. I encourage you to check out the new Milly’s Which Craft Art Studio and to keep an eye out for future news on my favorite places!
