The Ultimate Keepsake: Mother Glass Breast Milk Jewelry + GIVEAWAY! Ends 12/21

quirky review disc

In about six months time, give or take, I will have my last nursing session with my adorable little girl. My last nursing session EVER, actually. I will no longer produce this magic elixir that nourishes my baby, helps to stave off illness, and overall calms her down at the drop of a hat. To me, breast milk is special as is the bond I’ve had with my babies over these many years of nursing. This marks an end to a journey for me and I adore the idea of a keepsake to remind me of that journey. Mother Glass creates beautiful glass jewelry containing your breast milk as a memorable item to keep forever.

With the small amount of breast milk that you ship to them, Mother Glass can make glass earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and more. I had the opportunity to witness this awesome process of handmaking the jewelry and I found it unbelievably interesting so I’d like to share it with you! First, Jamie of Mother Glass, dehydrates your milk. This makes it look like little flakes.

Then, she cuts the glass shape from sheets of glass. You can choose from a variety of colors and designs. I told her that I wanted something that would resemble a galaxy and she showed me a very pretty blue sparkly piece that was perfect. She places the milk between two pieces of glass and puts the glass into her kiln where everything comes together wonderfully! I received earrings and a necklace, one with mica powder added to my milk to increase the results, and one without. I love both of them!

With Mother Glass, I love that you can customize your keepsake. I mean, the milk is yours so that’s pretty customized to begin with, but the variety of colors and things that you can have made are lovely. The glass designs are so stunning but the sentimentality of the breast milk really makes it such an amazing keepsake and piece of art. Some day, I’m going to look back on these days and remember when I would nurse my little ones and they would lock eyes with me and smirk, with a bit of milk dribbling from the corners of their mouths. Similarly to how people save a lock of hair from the first haircut or baby teeth (I don’t do that one…), I want to always have a little piece of this mommy-made drink that they survived on for the first year of their lives.

I also want to mention that I love the other artistic works from Mother Glass. Non-milk jewelry ranges from $10-20 and she also creates gorgeous suncatchers, bud vases, and even ornaments! It’s so cool to see all of the things that can be made with this glass!

  1. I would love the orange, yellow, green, blue colored one, if that is just for regular jewelry then I would love a blue one.

  2. I’ve always wanted breastmilk jewelry!
As for color…I’m not even sure! What would a clear highlighting the milk look like??
