Ever since I was little, my grandparents have had their homes decorated so beautifully with delicate displays of art interspersed with memories, all in the most flowing fashion. As I’ve gotten older and have a home of my own to care for, I find that my appreciation for home design has grown. Alas, my ability for it has not. Great Idea Hub is a truly inspirational free website for interior design, architecture, and ideas on how to spruce up that lovely home of mine!
I was immediately drawn in by the gorgeous photography of so many rooms that I would love to re-create in my own home. Within the Architecture section at Great Idea Hub, my favorite articles would have to be the ones where itty bitty apartments were made to look cozy and chic. Unique furniture and book shelves, many with the place of purchase cited just to make re-creating that space a little easier! Some of the designs, like the one with wavy roof, are more for you to drool over than to do for yourself, I’d say. It’s like when I watch those shows about unique, fancy hotels around the world I’ll never be able to afford, it’s just so cool to see what people have come up with!
As far as Design, Great Idea Hub is full of ideas! There are suggestions about basic decorating for beginners like me, colors to use, decluttering, themes, everything you need really! If you have an idea in mind, the search feature is useful to gather you up all of the applicable articles they have. I’m getting excited just thinking about all of the ways I’ll fix my boring house! I could spend all day reading about and looking at ways to really bring my home together. My grandmother always says that there is a process to decorating and you really have to study about it first. It goes double for interior design!
DIY will always be my favorite. If I can make it myself instead of paying an arm and a leg, that’s what I’m going to do! Plus, the process is fun! Great Idea Hub has simple DIY holiday decorations or an entire guide on how to install new bathroom tiles to update your bathroom. We paid a lot to have someone do that for us and I really wanted to try to do it ourselves! Lately I’ve been obsessing over a kitchen update so I’m spending a lot of time in their kitchen section and trying to decide exactly what I want and how much of it I can do myself. If I can do it myself, we can do it a lot sooner than if we have to save up for someone else to do it!
Some of the featured homes on Great Idea Hub are by moms (mostly evidenced by awesome kids bedroom layouts), which gives me hope for our house. It doesn’t have to be a big mess of clutter and blank walls, I can make it pretty. It’s really inspired me to start putting some thought and heart into our interior design! You’ll see, I’m making changes around here and we have Great Idea Hub bookmarked to guide us!

I love The Great Idea Hub. My wife is a DIY. She wants to redo the cabinets in the kitchen. Getting estimates from a remodeling contractor revealed it would be real expensive.

I’m checking out this site right now! It is good to take your time, and I would add, try to discern trends that might be more of a fad or on their way out. It is great if you can do a lot of it yourself, I’m sure you can save a lot of money, for me, that would probably be limited to the painting!
