I can’t turn down sweets. I’ve tried, it’s just not in me. That said, I’m still picky. I need something with a flavor that’s really going to wow me and I’m really happy to report that the Little Daisy Bake Shop did that not only for me, but for my whole family!
The Little Daisy Bake Shop is a bakery located in Montclair, New Jersey but they ship, so you can get that deliciousness anywhere you are (in the contiguous U.S.). Their homemade treats are peanut and tree nut free which is amazing if you’ve got a family member with allergies or if your kids are only allowed peanut-free snacks like we are at our school. The first thing I thought about when I saw the shop’s care package option was how much better of a gift this would be than to just give someone a gift card or try to wing it with a random gift. This is love in a box, a fresh box of delicious goodies.
We received a sample care package containing brownies, cookies, and sweet breads! Every single bite was scrumptious and I tried to get the kids to choose a favorite so that I could share it with you but honestly, they liked every one of them. I will admit that I barely shared the gorgeous decorated sugar cookie but it was just so beautiful, it needed someone who truly appreciated it. (Haha, that’s the excuse I’m going with!)
When I imagine sweet treats being shipped, I fear the flavor because I think they may get stale. Not a problem here! Every morsel from the Little Daisy Bake Shop was still moist and wholesome. The pumpkin bread was the perfect amount of sweetness. The brownie was fudgey and perfect, far surpassing any brownie I’ve ever made. The banana bread was gobbled up by all of the kids. I haven’t had too many chocolate chip blondies in my life but after this one, it’s going to be something I seek out more often! We’re not big fans of gingerbread cookies but this was our first time trying ginger molasses and it’s sweeter than the boldness of a gingerbread, absolutely the perfect amount of ginger inside! Snickerdoodles are my favorite holiday cookie and this one hit the mark! The chocolate chip cookie was obviously a hit, that’s just a given!
Last but not least, the one we were all the most impressed with was the oatmeal cranberry white chocolate and if you have a chance to even just drop by this shop and pick one up, we all recommend it. The reason it impressed me the most is because my kids hate oatmeal cookies and this is the one we all fought over the most. After one bite, everyone wanted dibs on it. I don’t know what it was about this cookie but it just encompasses all of the right flavors in one cookie and really knocks it home.
I could talk about this yummy box of heaven all day long but my point is that Little Daisy Bake Shop is totally worth it. Whether you’re passing through Montclair and get a cake, ordering your cousin a care package sent to school, or just treating yourself because you deserve it, I have to HIGHLY recommend this place. I will be stopping into the shop any time I’m up there, that’s for absolute certainty!
