People are always inquiring in the Great Dane groups about what type of bed to get. They’re huge pups so you’ve got to find something that will fit them but also that they can’t chew to pieces if they are power chewers like my Dandy boy currently is. On top of that, you need something with the proper bone support and easy to clean sounds good but at this point, we’re asking a lot, right? I thought so until we got our Woofmat!
Woofmat is a pet bed made with natural materials, including Celliant, which is a responsive material that can increase blood flow and circulation for a better rest. It looks like a pad, or mat, in the way that it is a flat bed but it’s so much more than that. The orthopedic foam inside is soft and must be comfortable because I admit that when given the choice of other beds to lay on, my dogs choose their Woofmat! It comes in several vacuum-sealed packages, kind of like a memory foam bed, and you just zip the pads inside of the cover and let it breathe for a while. Very simple!
Now as the mum of a puppy, I do care about having something that is water repellent. My boy is pretty great with his training but he absolutely does have accidents and at first, he would have them on one of our other dog beds because I guess maybe it reminded him of his puppy pads? Honestly, I have no idea but all I knew was that I didn’t want anything that would smell or stain. The microfiber cover on the Woofmat is water repellent and it wicks away the moisture. He has luckily not had any accidents on it but he does drool about a gallon a day EVERYWHERE and it hasn’t been a problem for the Woofmat at all.
I’m actually sitting next to my Cocker Spaniel as she rests on the Woofmat by the fire and I’d say she adores it. When she runs inside after going potty out in the snow and she does one of those jump landings onto her bed, I love that the anti-slip bottom stops her from gliding across the floor. I’m pretty sure she appreciates that too.
I have to say that I didn’t expect the Woofmat to be our family favorite because in photos, it doesn’t look unique from other beds but when you see its insides and you touch the cover, you can tell it’s not just a mat. It’s the one that we actually bring from room to room, upstairs and downstairs, because it’s that preferred by the dogs. I would absolutely get a Woofmat for each of our pups!
