A Time to Clean with Biz and Kids ‘N’ Pets

While we’re disassembling our Christmas trees and putting away our colorful lights, now seems like a good time to talk about cleaning. I’ve been decluttering the house, making room for new gadgets and toys. My brain is fixated on things like how I can rearrange and organize each room differently. I’m also staring at all of these new craft kits and wondering HOW they manage to get some of these stains on their clothes. To make cleaning a little less complex, I’ve introduced some new products into my routine. We’ve got Biz Stain Fighter and Kids ‘N’ Pets spray from Scott’s Liquid Gold to tackle some of these messes my little monsters create!

The laundry room isn’t the only place that these products are useful but it’s where we’re going to start. Doing laundry for seven people means that there is always something needing to be washed. If one of my kids wore it, it probably needs to be tackled in a big way. I can hear the old Biz Stain Fighter commercials in my head. This stuff has been around forever but it’s of course, been updated to fit our generation of stains.

Biz Stain Fighter comes in a powder, liquid, or booster that is intended to fight stains and odors before the detergent. It’s got a unique blend of enzymes that are said to clean 80% better than detergent alone. You can pre-treat it by rubbing it on before wash, or just add the Biz to your load of laundry.

I was also really thrilled to see that you can use it for so many other things too! Hard surfaces don’t stand a chance to the mixture of warm water and Biz. You can sprinkle it on surfaces or make a paste, then scrub and rinse, to remove just about every stain! In typical mom fashion, I was actually really excited to test this out on some of my own stubborn stains! The idea of a multi-purpose product makes me happy because I’d rather not have four cabinets full of different products that do the same thing, but for each surface in the house.

Biz powder and liquid are for cleaning and deodorizing so you can use them in the kitchen, bathroom, floor, wall, ceiling, pretty much any hard surface you can think of that isn’t sensitive to water. Use it for the tiles, bath tub, countertops, even the toilet! It’s quite the magical solution!

I’ll admit that I hesitate to share a picture of my results here because it’s embarrassing. You see, when I moved into my house, the kitchen floor grout was brown and I wrongfully assumed that that was its natural color. After all, I’ve mopped it three million times since. After making a paste with Biz powder to scrub my floor, I learned that the grout is more of a beige color. I’m still trying to come to terms with this even though my stepmom is a professional house cleaner and says that this happens to a lot of people! So, I am still working on using the Biz to perfect my soon-to-be glistening kitchen. Here is a sneak peek of my “OMG” moment:

Don’t judge me, okay? Stay tuned for that full kitchen beautification process in my upcoming spring cleaning post!

Then, I have the Kids ‘N’ Pets spray from Scott’s Liquid Gold. I have a lot of kids and a lot of pets, so I already knew that this one was for me. We have ferrets, which no matter how much you clean them and their living space, are smelly animals. The oils in their skin make the scent of their presence, well, unpleasant. Kids ‘N’ Pets is a spray that breaks down stains and odors. It had barely been in my house for an hour before I pulled this out to clean up a puppy stain. (Have I mentioned that having a new puppy is a lot of work?) I honestly thought the item was ruined until I took this to it!

We also have three kitties and since none of them like to share litter boxes, we also have three litter boxes. Kids ‘N’ Pets can actually treat pet cages and litter boxes for smell too! Just keep off of it until it dries. I feel like this is just one of those things that you need to have laying around if you have pets but prefer that your house not smell like they live there!

I have a lot left to clean so I’m going to get back to that. I can’t wait to share all of my finished projects with you next time!

  1. I really hate to vacuum. I’ve been toying with getting one of those robot vacuums but may guess is I would have to use the robot one and the vacuum anyway and so I would be doing it twice…. so . .

  2. I absolutely hate folding laundry … it never ends. Piles, everyday, my daughter has even decided to start wearing a new nightgown every single day. Grrrrr….

  3. I like a clean house, so don’t mind doing household chores except for washing windows. Hate cleaning the windows.

  4. I hate laundry. I spend more time turning clothes back right because everything my kids take off end up inside out or they have stuff left in their pockets. I believe it’s a conspiracy, lol. It’s a never ending vicious cycle.

  5. I hate dusting and vacuuming – they’re so time-consuming! Lots of moving and replacing items is required to get the job done right. I usually leave these chores for my husband!

  6. I am disabled and really need help. Doing laundry dishes and all other stuff . I needed some thing that works

  7. The dishes – only because it seems like it’s never ending! Just clean the kitchen and boom here are more dishes for you! Blah
