Our First Ever Visit to Morey’s Piers!

disclosure tics

My New Jersey readers and friends will be surprised to hear that despite living in New Jersey almost all of my life, my family just visited Morey’s Piers in Wildwood for the first time last week. I think I briefly visited once as a child but my children had never been and I’m already hearing all about how everyone wants to go back!

Morey's Piers

We’ve been to a lot of different amusement parks, to include Disney, but I can honestly say that very few parks have wowed all of the kids like this one. Morey’s Piers are three piers in Wildwood, Mariner’s, Surfside, and Adventure. To be honest, there is so much to do between the three that I think you could easily spend an entire weekend, if not week, there. We spent our time solely at Mariner’s Pier and we didn’t even finish trying everything they had to offer so we’re eager to get back. I’m thinking that my husband and I will also visit without the kids too!

Morey’s Piers water parks have a good variety of slides for various ages plus play places that are perfect for the young ones. It was absolutely sweltering outside so of course, we headed to the water park on Mariner’s Pier first, Raging Waters. My three year old played in Camp Kidtastrophe and Shipwreck Shoals for hours. I let the older kids (ages 5 through 11) ride all of the slides together. Everyone had a blast and kept cool. You have no idea how refreshing it is to sit right on the beach with the ocean breeze hitting you while you watch your kids play in Camp Kidtastrophe. It’s the perfect combo for me because I’m really not a beach person (I KNOW!) but I enjoy the view and ocean breeze.

After we were nice and cool, we decided to check out some of the rides on Mariner’s Pier. The Giant Wheel is out of this world, it’s so massive! The view is astounding and if I wasn’t so suddenly terrified of heights, I think it would’ve been very relaxing! (Ha!) I saw that they actually host a breakfast on the Giant Wheel and I think that sounds awesome, I’m definitely coming back to try that! The kids rode almost every ride there but a few shut down due to the impending storm. I have to say that my own personal favorite ride was Sunny’s Lookout Lighthouse because it was so unique. You pull yourself to the top of a freefall, basically. I liked the workout and the ride down, I just thought it was such a cool concept!

Morey's Piers

Despite the fact that we only visited one of Morey’s Piers, we were all completely wowed. Just one pier filled an entire day for us and we still hadn’t gotten to everything. I would absolutely trek to Morey’s Piers for a week stay and catch all three piers without even needing to do anything else. The rides are great and numerous, the water parks are a blast, and there’s so much to do for all ages. This won’t be the last you hear from me about Morey’s Piers because I need to go back for more! The Runaway Tram, for instance, is a brand new family-friendly coaster that is opening up in celebration of their 50th season and the kids are all hounding me to try it out! We’ll be back for you, Runaway Tram!
