Saving Summer with Camp Warner Bros!

*Coverage of the Camp Warner Bros campaign done in partnership with WB. Our welcome kit was received free of charge in exchange for sharing details about this virtual summer camp. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

When summer camps all over the country announced that they must cancel this year, I was heartbroken for not only my children but all of our children. It is for safety purposes, of course, but as that commonly shared quote says: “We only get 18 summers with our children, let’s make every one count!”

Like my earlier post about silver linings through the quarantine, I realized that this was an opportunity. Sure, things would be different but maybe that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Usually, the kids will go off and do their own thing for summer camp for a few days and then I get to hear about it afterward. This year, why not make it something a little more family-oriented? After all, I love being included!

When Camp Warner Bros virtual summer camp appeared in my inbox, I jumped at the chance. A virtual camp where I am the camp director and the kids are my campers? I’m in!

Each week for the next eight weeks, Warner Bros will be giving us a bit of entertainment to feature and an activity to go with it! I’m creative, sure, but I loved the idea of having themed activities mapped out for me. Just like our special movie night, I was handed an idea and able to really run with it. I’m working hard to try to bring that same oomph to you guys each week so that you can share some of this awesomeness with your little ones.

This weekend as a commencement celebration, we tie dyed our camp t-shirts courtesy of Camp Warner Bros. My husband and I have both never tie dyed anything before so in case you’re not aware how this works: You place rubber band on parts of a shirt to create different designs and then squirt or dip dye on the shirt! After rinsing off the loose dye, you’ll see the astounding designs created on your shirt!

The girls and I went crazy cutting our shirts up. If you slice the bottom of a t-shirt into strips, it can be cute and frilly or you can apply beads to it! We’ll probably be adding beads later on this week.

Tie dying is just the beginning of this adventure so I hope you guys will stay tuned for more great activities! I’m off to work on some ideas to add to what Camp Warner Bros has in store for us all!
