Cherry Chili Pork Chops

Cherry chili pork chops are a favorite recipe in our household! There aren’t many things that all of the kids will eat but this is one we all sit down together to enjoy. It’s not too spicy, just enough for a flavorful, juicy bite of pork chop. When I say I’m making pork chops, the kids whine. But when I say that it’s chili cherry pork chops (actually, I say “the ones with the sauce”), they get excited!

We started making this when we were going through our meal delivery kits. Our recipe is different than the one we started with but I love that it opened up our menu to add new things. It gets boring doing the same old meals all of the time so cherry chili pork chops really added a KICK to the mundane!

Boneless pork chops

Olive oil

Onion powder

Garlic powder

3 teaspoon minced garlic

1.5 teaspoons Better than Boullion Chicken concentrate

2 tablespoon butter

3 heaping spoonfuls cherry jam/preserves

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

2 tablespoon white wine vinegar

1. Drizzle oil in the pan on medium high heat.

2. While the oil warms up, pat pork chops dry and sprinkle both sides with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.

3. Once the oil is warm and glistening, add the pork chops and cook until browned, about 4 minutes per side.

4. Remove the pork chops and set aside. Leave the browned bits in the pan, they add flavor!

5. In the same pan at medium heat, add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant.

6. Add the cherry jam, water, and boullion. Then, stir together.

7. Drizzle paprika and the half teaspoon of chili powder. Continue stirring while it cooks until bubbly.

8. Remove from heat and add in butter. Stir until melted.

9. Return pork chops to pan to coat in the sauce, then serve!

We love to eat these on the side of sweet potatoes, roasted just like our simply roasted brussels sprouts!

Let us know how your pork chops turn out and what you served on the side!
