After the review of our delicious Confetti Sushi Roll from Doorstep Desserts, we signed on to receive and share our box with you regularly! I can’t really turn down sweets, it’s not in my nature. This time, we received a Chocolate Raspberry Pie. Our kit came with chocolate cake, dark chocolate ganache, chocolate cream pie filling, and a raspberry glaze.

One of my favorite things about Doorstep Desserts is that most, if not all, of the ingredients are edible as-is. This proved to be helpful when in the middle of my mixing up our pies, my husband took some of the chocolate cake when my back was turned! He won’t eat dark chocolate so he wanted to steal it before I added that and he said it was quite good! Since the Doorstep Desserts recipes are not yet made, you can customize and I could have nixed the dark chocolate if I so chose. As it is known in this family, I don’t share desserts and I put the dark chocolate in there deliberately because it’s mine, all mine. I’m just saying that if you weren’t selfish like me, you could eliminate parts of the recipe that your husband doesn’t like. 😉

With the five minute bake time (to warm the cake) and the mixing of the other ingredients, I think that this whole thing took the kids and I about ten or fifteen minutes to put together. I shared with them because, well, they helped! The chocolate was deliciously rich and the raspberry glaze was fantastic.

(Ours aren’t as pretty as the stock photo but they were made by children and also, we used tissue paper instead of cupcake liners! I promise you that they’re still very delectable!)

I love that Doorstep Desserts has given me a fun and safe food preparation activity to do with my children and the taste doesn’t disappoint. Since it comes straight to my door, I don’t even have to go to the store to load up on ingredients. No fuss, all yum! I did and still do recommend checking out Doorstep Desserts whether you plan to share or not!
