There are so many milestones we track with our kids. First smile, first steps, first day of school, all of these little moments that lead to them growing up and leaving our homes to start their own. My oldest hit preteen age. Then she reached five feet tall. She said she didn’t want toys for Christmas. Now, she practically fits in my shoes. When I realized this, I decided to introduce her to one of my favorite shoe companies: Camtrade Footwear. I’ve talked many times about Camtrade’s brands, Secret Celebrity and Soft Comfort, but this time is different.
When I told my daughter that she would finally fit into women’s shoes, her eyes lit up. I told her that it was time she worked with me on a blog post with the same company that sent me all of those gorgeous shoes that she wants to steal from me, and this pair would be her own. We would be “twinsies” as the kids call it because I’d get a matching pair. We browsed the websites together and we both fell in love with the brown Jonelle boots from Secret Celebrity. I knew it was because they have that same look as wearing leg warmers with your boots and she loves that!
She couldn’t wait. She watched the mail every day and before I even tried on my own Jonelle boots, she was asking if she could go outside and walk around in her new shoes. I peeked through the blinds as she roamed around the driveway and it was such a tearful moment for me. She was staring down at her feet the entire time with this huge smile on her face, clearly so proud of herself. I struggled with the idea that my baby, that little baby who made me a mom, was walking around in these heeled boots that made it unmistakably clear that she was a baby no more.
I’ve said it time and time again, women’s shoes can be uncomfortable. I wanted to make sure that my daughter’s first adult shoes were something that wouldn’t hurt her feet or cause blisters and I knew that I could trust Camtrade Footwear for that. They’ve been reliable for me for the past couple of years and they have such a wonderful selection!
My daughter has no trouble walking in her Jonelle boots and she says she loves how they feel. She tries to make them work with every outfit, which isn’t too tough because they are pretty versatile. She wears them to school on days when she has no gym class and always to church. When the weather heats up a little bit, I’m sure she’ll wear them with a long dress to celebrate spring. They’re probably the cutest fancy boots either one of us owns!
I also got a pair of the Cognac Racer shoes from Soft Comfort and soft comfort they sure are. The Racer has faux fleece and inside, it’s a plush memory foam. I’m all about lounging around with these cozy shoes because of their slip-on convenience. Instead of throwing on some sneakers to pick up the kids, I can put on my Racers and look like I actually carefully selected an outfit before heading out (I sure didn’t!).
The Racers from Camtrade Footwear are perfect for wearing with straight leg jeans or leggings. They’re part of the fall/winter collection but they’re another pair that I think is going to work nicely for spring too. I’m picturing a knee-length dress with yellow in it and the Racer for a cozy transition when it’s still a bit cool outside for sandals. I can tell you all about pretty outfits that work with the Racer shoes but my personal focus is really the ease and how photogenic they are! They actually mention lattes in the description on the Soft Comfort website and I think that’s pretty spot-on. They would definitely be part of the blogger look starter pack! Ha!
