Where Is That Family? Summer Here, Summer There!

Summer has begun and life isn’t slowing down! The kids are out of school and we’re going to church twice a week, wading through shoobie traffic because church is actually on the island.

shoobie (noun) term used to describe tourists visiting the shore during the summer months

Don’t get me wrong though, I love church being full of shoobies because the way our collective worship blows the roof off is worth not being able to find parking or scooching in the row next to a stranger! You can probably hear us singing from the bridge!

We’ve also been planning to attend the Regal $1 Summer Movies. One of the ones playing in our town last week was one of my kids’ favorites, Goosebumps. My oldest started reading it and got all of the kids very interested. Unfortunately, at the last minute my 4.5 year old told me she was afraid so we didn’t go see it. We absolutely want to make sure we see Hotel Transylvania 2 though. That one is not terrifying at all, it’s actually quite adorable and funny! I highly recommend checking out my post to learn more and see the schedule for what’s playing near you!

We threw my sister’s baby shower, for which I made quite a few adorable things, like the diaper wreath I shared with you. More pictures of some of my crafts will be coming at you soon! It was time consuming to put together the shower but I really had a blast!

My vow renewal is coming up next month. I can’t believe how quickly time has flown! I got so swept up in the baby shower planning that I dawdled quite a bit on getting my invitations made up! I did create a cute card box and come up with a functional hashtag for our event. Now that it’s the next big thing on the agenda, I’ve kicked it into high gear and am attempting to pull everything together with a month and a half to go! This is how I do things, apparently I’ve always been a bit of a crammer! Like my husband says, “We’ll make it work, that’s what we do!”

I have mostly stopped contributing on other blogs so that I can take any time that I have and devote myself fully to The Crunchy Mom Next Door, soon to be The Quirky Mom Next Door. I love what I do and while it was wonderful writing for my amazing mentors, it’s time to spread my wings and see just what I can do over here! I hope you’ll stick with me and our adventures!

    1. Thank you! I’ve been a bit terrified so I’m dragging my feet! So many people say it’s easy but then other people are like, “Yes, but make sure you don’t make a single mistake or you’ll kill your entire website.” 😮
