DIY Teen Titans Piggy Bank at #CampWarnerBros

*Coverage of the Camp Warner Bros campaign done in partnership with WB. We received this movie free of charge in exchange for sharing details about this virtual summer camp. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

We are having so much fun making new things week after week although it is making summer fly by even more quickly, at least for me! It’s nice to have something constantly new to do to keep the kids occupied though. This week, we are featuring a favorite of mine, Teen Titans Go! We went to our first influencer movie premiere when another Teen Titans Go! movie came out and that was my introduction to the gang. I realized that it was pretty funny for a kids’ show and I was hooked! Our current feature film is called Teen Titans  Go! vs. Teen Titans.

Teen Titans Go! are the little kid versions of the Teen Titans so even before seeing it, I knew that this was a crossover between the little guys and the big ones! Four words into one of the villain’s lines, I realized that Weird Al was in this movie! I LOVE Weird Al so I was giddy. There are several other notable actors lending their voices here, like Khary Payton and my favorite New Zealander Rhys Darby. Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans is funny and action-filled, great for boys and girls, and totally worth checking out. Teen Titans Go! is one of the few shows I’ll watch with the kids and yes, I absolutely know the show’s theme song. Grab Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans now on on Digital, Blu-ray & DVD!

Now to our weekly craft: a mason jar piggy bank featuring your favorite characters! This is the easiest craft we’ve done thus far and it just goes to show how magical Mod Podge is. We did something similar to this a while back where we used a DVD cover to make a light switch plate! I like using things like DVD covers or magazines because the paper is a bit thicker whereas my cheap printer paper likes to rip sometimes. Printable directions and Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans characters are here.

For this piggy bank, you’ll need:

Paint

Jar

Scissors

Brush

Picture of your character

Mod Podge

Glitter (optional)

Directions:

1. Print and cut out your character(s) and/or logo.

2. Cut out a slot for money in the top of the jar.

3. Paint your jar and let it dry.

4. If adding glitter (thanks to a suggestion by TX Mommy’s Savings), do that now with a bit of the Mod Podge OR on the paint while it is still drying.

5. Paint a layer of Mod Podge underneath the character, stick it to the jar, and then paint another layer over the image. Let it dry!
